![]() Home PageWelcome to SUNRISE COUNTRY CLUB - THE FRIENDLIEST CLUB IN THE VALLEY! Sunrise Country Club is located at 71-601 Country Club Drive in Rancho Mirage, the heart of the Coachella Valley, a short 25 minute drive from Palm Springs Airport. Sunrise Country Club is strategically located in the Coachella Valley with easy access to Los Angeles (110 miles away) San Diego (125 miles) and Las Vegas, (290 miles). Most times, these destinations can be reached with a minimum of time and frustration -if you plan right! The easiest way to get here is from the I10 by taking the Bob Hope exit and driving on Bob Hope until you reach Country Club Drive. And here is a map to show you exactly where we are in the Coachella Valley. Rancho Mirage has been called the HOME OF PRESIDENTS, where the late President Gerald Ford and Mrs. Ford made their home for many years. Mrs. Ford remains in residence in Rancho Mirage. President and Mrs. Eisenhower were frequently in residence in the valley and had strong ties to the area. Ike, as he was affectionately called, liked to play the golf courses in the valley. President Kennedy was a frequent visitor. The old time glamour and mystique of Palm Springs is an added charm to the valley. The Sunrise tennis and golf facilities are located in the center of desert activity. Just 10 minutes from the world’s prestige shopping on El Paseo or the Gardens on EL PASEO . . . Ten minutes from the McCallum Theater featuring outstanding theater and art . . . just minutes from THE RIVER a shopping complex with boutique shops and an eclectic array of restaurants including The Cheesecake Factory, P. F. Chang's, Baja Fresh and The Yard House to mention a few. There is also a multiplex movie theatre and a Starbuck's. Within the complex of Sunrise Country Club is a private, member-owned club consisting of a par 64 executive golf course, 13 tennis courts, clubhouse pool, a fitness /activity center and the clubhouse. There are several types of membership available. The saga of Sunrise Country Club started in early 1974 when a local developer, having completed a housing complex in Palm Springs, moved his vision and ambition to Rancho Mirage. There he purchased a 135 acre parcel of land, which was undoubtedly one of the finest pieces of property available, the site upon which Sunrise Country Club now rests. At that time it was a date garden similar to one recently removed on the other side of Country Club and Bob Hope Drives. Most importantly it was out of the wind belt and adjacent to a fine old established facility, Thunderbird Country Club. In 1981 a group of homeowners banded together to purchase Sunrise Country Club from the developer and it became, and still is, a member owned private country club.
